AMADC would like to recognize Christina V. McLean, Director of AMADC Collegiate Relations, for November 2011’s Volunteer Spotlight.

With 11 years of marketing experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors, Christina V. McLean recently served as Director of Public Affairs & Marketing at The Heart of America Foundation® – a national nonprofit providing educational tools to under-resourced public schools. Christina secured corporate funding, supported strategic planning, served as an organizational spokesperson and worked to advance and expand Heart of America’s marketing and community outreach.

Now an independent consultant, Christina has worked extensively in business, consumer and social marketing. A longtime member of the American Marketing Association, she was recently appointed as the DC Chapter’s Director of Collegiate Relations and is former Chair of its government and business special interest groups. Christina also speaks Japanese and worked in Tokyo leading niche marketing initiatives for a Fortune 500 corporation.

In recognition of her accomplishments, Christina was named one of DC’s “People on the Move” by the Washington Business Journal (7/6/11) and received the 2011 EnVest Foundation “40 Under 40 Award”. Committed to corporate philanthropy and nonprofit advancement, Christina also completed the Nonprofit Board Leadership Development Program by HandsOn Greater DC Cares – the largest service initiative in the DC region with a network of 800+ nonprofit, corporate and foundation partners.

Christina graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and attended Kanda University of International Studies in Japan. She has spoken at several universities as an expert in global and domestic marketing, and was selected to participate in the Forecasting World Events Project by the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA). Passionate about service, Christina is a repeat guest host of The Giving Show on the Wall Street Business Network, as well as an ambassador and volunteer for several DC programs focused on youth and low-income families.
