If you’re married – or have experienced early onset groomzilla or bridezilla symptoms – you probably know paper is the traditional gift for a first anniversary. My wife and I were married in 2011. So, recently armed with a healthy appreciation for tradition and a strong desire to make my bride happy, I considered the options, weighed the features and benefits and ultimately decided on a gift certificate for a massage and other beauty/wellness treatments. This might not sound like the greatest gift of all time but to a woman who had given birth to our first child 11 days prior, a day of pampering was at least above average.
Since we’re a month-and-a-half away from the AMADC 80th Anniversary Gala, I’d like to request that you skip the traditional 80th anniversary gift (Oak?) and consider honoring AMADC’s 80 years of service to the marketing community in the following ways:

Purchase a ticket to our big event. AMADC Members can purchase tickets for $55 until Sept. 28th and $80 after Sept. 28th. Non-Members can purchase tickets for $80 until Sept. 28th and $110 after Sept. 28th.
Submit a nomination for the 80th Anniversary Top Marketer Awards in one or more of the following categories:
- Government/Public Sector
- Association/Non-profit
- Start-up Firm (in business for three years or less)
- Commercial – Small (less than $7M in annual revenue)
- Commercial – Medium ($7-35M in annual revenue)
- Commercial – Large (greater than $35M in annual revenue)
- Agency/Professional Services
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you – and honoring some of you – on October 25th for the AMADC 80th Anniversary Gala at the historic Carnegie Institution for Science in DC.
