Jenny Fromen
Marketing & Communications Manager at CFA Society Washington, DC

At a high level, what are your job responsibilities?

My day-to-day responsibilities run the whole gambit, as I am the only person dedicated to the marketing function on my team. I write event marketing emails, membership retention emails, renewal messaging, and manage most society branding, including company presentations, sponsorship brochures, digital advertising our website.

What excites you about marketing?

Marketing is such a dynamic field in which to work — not only do you have to be tech-savvy in order to keep up with every changing tools and engagement platforms, but you also have to use the creative, right side of your brain. It is never a dull moment!

What projects/accomplishments are you especially proud of?

I am extremely proud of the new website my company launched since I came onboard. I had previously worked in IT sales pitching Adobe Experience Manager, which is a web content management system, so it was really fun and interesting to be on the customer side of launching a new website.

Why did you join AMADC?

I joined AMADC to participate in the Marketing Mentors Network, but I wish I had joined the association sooner! It is great to be connected with like-minded individuals and exposed to a whole host of marketing resources.

What are you hoping to get out of your membership?

As I am the sole marketer on the team, I’m hoping to find colleagues and forge friendships with other marketers in the area to keep me on my toes, expose myself to new trends and ideas, and feel a sense of camaraderie that I don’t get because of the small size of my team. Don’t be a stranger, if you’d like to connect or grab coffee/happy hour, send me a note on LinkedIn!

What do you like to do for fun?

I am tempted to call myself an “adrenaline junky,” but my persistent fear of heights definitely puts a damper on using that label. So, let’s go with “outdoor enthusiast.” If it’s sunny, I am either on a bike ride, stand-up paddleboard, jog or hike. My favorite way to spend an afternoon is a bike ride to one of the DC monuments where I’ll sit listening to music, people watching and messing around in my sketchbook until the sun goes down.

What do you value?

Food and People. I am definitely a “live to eat” kind of person so I am forever taking pictures of my food and I LOVE meeting new people and friends everywhere I go. The line at the grocery store? You bet. Stranger at the coffee shop? Yes, them too!
