ALEXANDRIA, VA., May 6, 2010 – The creative face behind global household brands such as Burger King, Microsoft, American Express, Best Buy and Gap, Chuck Porter, Chairman of Crispin, Porter & Bogusky (CP+B) will be the keynote speaker at the American Marketing Association – Washington DC Chapter’s (AMADC) Spring Mix Networking Event taking place on Monday, May 24th at The Liaison Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Chuck Porter’s agency is one of the most highly decorated advertising and marketing agencies in the country. Chuck joined the Crispin Agency in 1988 as creative director and partner after a long career as an award-winning freelance copywriter. The agency was renamed Crispin & Porter, and within three years it had doubled in size and been named as one of the top 15 creative shops in the country.
Today, the agency has approximately 1,000 people, with offices nationally and internationally. The agency has been profiled in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Forbes, and Fast Company, and in 2009, CP+B was named Agency of the Year by Advertising Age, Adweek and Creativity Magazine. Most recently, Advertising Age selected CP+B as Agency of the Decade.
Chuck is a past co-chairman and current board member of Advertising Week in New York—North America’s preeminent communications industry event—and the incoming chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Along with Martha Stewart and Michael Dell, he was named one of Inc. Magazine “Entrepreneurs We Love.” Chuck’s keynote speech will focus on the topic of the Effectiveness in Marketing.
Mark Bisnow – 2010 Hall of Fame Inductee Marketer of the Year Award
Mark Bisnow, Founder of Bisnow Media will be this year’s recipient of the AMADC 2010 Hall of Fame. Each year, AMADC presents the Hall of Fame Award to a leader who inspires others in the local marketing community, and has made distinguished and consistent contributions to the marketing profession. Past Hall of Fame Award recipients have included Ted Ward (Chief Marketing Officer of GEICO), Ted Leonsis (AOL) and Catherine Meloy (CEO of Goodwill of Greater Washington).
