While the DC weather may have us all a bit confused, spring is officially here! This past week, we “sprang forward” one hour with Daylight Saving Time.
AMADC is also in the process of springing forward. Busy preparing for our new (2017-2018) year which commences on July 1, following our AMADC general election that took place last month. Thank you to all of you who took the time to vote—we are thrilled with the high response rate and member engagement as a result of the process.
I am thrilled to announce that our 2017-2018 AMADC Board is now official with Brent Hayhurst assuming the role of our incoming President and Stephanie Sikorski as our incoming President-Elect. I look forward to supporting them and the rest of the board as the Immediate Past President in the upcoming year. It has been an honor to work with Brent and Stephanie this year and I have the utmost confidence in their leadership of AMADC moving forward!
The 2017-2018 board is a group of incredibly talented, engaged and dedicated professionals who are excited for the new year. They are ready to put the lessons learned from this year into practice so that we may continue to strengthen and grow AMADC. I encourage you to reach out to the board, to get to know them, and to work with them as they spring into action.
Continuing to build upon the strategic plans outlined for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 years, the board will remain focused on:
- Increasing member engagement and driving home the value of membership to those in our marketing community;
- Delivering the right content to the right members through exciting, engaging and varied programming that speaks to each target group’s personal marketing journey;
- Developing our newest communities—District Current (Young Professionals) and CMO Leadership Circle;
- Creating energy and buzz in the DC marketing community on an ongoing basis.
Please help us achieve these goals and best meet your needs as a member. If you haven’t done so already, please take a few moments to fill out the member survey that you received in your inbox on Tuesday, March 7. This is a key instrument that we use to evaluate what is working, and what we need to focus on in the months ahead. The survey results will have a direct impact on strategies and tactics planned by the board as we continuously work on moving AMADC forward.
Hold on tight, we are indeed springing forward and we want to make sure no one is left behind!
