New Year, New You
While December is typically seen as a season of joy and giving, in our professional lives it also—unfortunately—brings added pressure to meet 2017 goals and tie up other loose ends.
The juxtaposition of the season can certainly be a major source of stress during a time that’s meant for reflection and renewed focus and energy for the coming year. I know I struggle with this every year—as I’m sure many of you do as well. It can be difficult to stay focused and find balance. But for those of you who can, you’re likely to uncover opportunities by opening yourself up to the many possibilities. There’s much to look forward to as we prepare to say goodbye to 2017.
In this spirit, I invite you to join me in adopting a “New Year, New You” mentality. Whether your goal is to find that next job, bring in a new client, finally set aside the time required to learn a new skill, or to go all-in on achieving that next degree or professional certification, AMADC and our community of professionals are here for support and to guide you through your personal marketing journey.
Here are a few ways that AMADC is prepared to help you in your voyage to find the “New You:”
- New Path. Chart a new path forward with the help of programs, member resources or pilot offerings such as our upcoming Business Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs
- New Career Opportunities. Search and apply for new opportunities through the AMADC Job Bank
- New Connections. Commit to making new contacts and reconnect with old ones during one of our events (networking is always included!)
- New Leadership Role and Visibility. Make the most of your membership by becoming a committee volunteer or reaching out to a member of the AMADC Board of Directors to learn more about how you can contribute as a leader of our chapter
- New Knowledge. Attend an event to learn from an expert or to engage in a thought-provoking discussion
- New Certification. Set yourself above the crowd by becoming an AMA Professional Certified Marketer® (PCM) in Digital Marketing (there’s a free practice test + AMADC members get $20 off the final exam registration). Or take advantage of a member-only 10% discount on a growing number of Georgetown School of Continuing Studies certification degree programs
As I set my personal goals for 2018, I am equally focused on AMADC and look forward to great things ahead for each and every one of you!
