March 16, 2015 – Washington, D.C. – Aspiring marketers and experienced mentors will meet at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies in April during the Spring Mentor Program, Marketers Helping Marketers.
Hosted by the DC Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMADC), the Mentor Program is entering its fifth consecutive year and has already paired more than 400 mentors and protégés. The four-week program, which kicks off Tuesday, April 7 from 6:30-8:30p.m., includes guest speakers and networking opportunities, but most importantly are the one-on-one meetings between mentors and up-and-coming marketers.
“Regardless of where you are in your career, it helps to talk to someone outside your everyday circles,” says Eileen Bramlet, AMADC President. “Mentors are like coaches, teachers and friends all at once. They’re really there to share their experiences, and offer guidance and support.”
Entry-level and mid-level marketing professionals, with an average of 5 years’ experience, get an opportunity to gain valuable career guidance and a framework for career planning. They’ll work with their mentors to set objectives and create strategies for reaching their goals.
In addition, mentors and protégés will hear from leading industry professionals and recruiters about what mentorship entails; how best to showcase their talents; and what they can do to develop their skills further.
The speaker lineup for the Spring Mentor Program includes:
- Brian Rutter, Vice President of Marketing, NACS and AMADC Immediate Past President
- Jessica Bayer, Vice President North American Talent Acquisition, MSL Group
- Roseanna Stanton, PhD, Chief Strategy and Communications Officer, The Georgetown University Center for Continuing & Professional Education (CCPE)
Program participation is limited to 20 mentors and 20 protégés. For more information and to register, visit amadc.org/events.
