(Washington, DC – August 13, 2013) A new partnership between the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMADC) and Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) addresses the need for ongoing professional development among marketers.
In time to start the fall 2013 semester, AMADC members receive reduced tuition rates and early registration opportunities for courses in marketing, digital marketing, and social media at Georgetown CCPE’s website. AMADC will also work with Georgetown CCPE to help ensure that the curriculum for its marketing-related professional certificate programs meets industry standards and changing competencies expected of today’s marketing professionals.
Edwin Schmierer, CCPE Associate Dean, believes the partnership is a good fit: “Combining Georgetown’s reputation for academic excellence with AMADC’s brand as a thought leader and professional resource will help ensure that our programs remain highly-applied, challenging, and relevant for marketing professionals throughout the DC area.”
Brian Rutter, president of the AMADC, echoes Dean Schmierer’s sentiment. “AMADC members value formalized learning as a path to getting ahead in their careers. This partnership recognizes that classroom instruction is complementary to on-the-job experience—for both an emerging marketer or for a seasoned professional interested in keeping skills updated and relevant.”
