As the VP of the Mentor Program at AMADC, my mission is to help marketers succeed. We’ve built the mentor program to be pertinent to a marketer’s professional journey, flexible around work schedules and conducive to expanding participants’ networks. We attract all kinds of marketers from small agencies, corporate brands and freelancers, and we always have a few marketers who have started their own businesses. It’s always interesting to find a good mentor pairing for these individuals during the matching process, as entrepreneurs are a slightly different breed.

When talking to Walter Pollard, a mentor in the 2016-2017 program and President of BrandFuzion, a light bulb went off. We realized that these entrepreneurs needed a different program model focused on solving their business challenges. As marketers, we knew it would be crucial to provide support based on operating in the digital economy.

The AMADC Business Acceleration Program was born. We are excited to launch the pilot, with Walter lending us his sales, marketing and executive coaching expertise as he serves as the program coach.

This new program is for AMADC members and is focused on resolving core challenges in a new business in a digital world, including:

  • Differentiating yourself in a noisy market
  • Establishing a customer-centric approach
  • Identifying the best use of your time, resources and money on marketing and sales
  • Understanding the ways that marketing and sales are fundamentally changing

This program offers:

  • A personalized, immersive experience through one-on-one coaching during the program, plus ongoing access to the coach after the program ends
  • A blended approach of sales and marketing
  • Advanced content than you’re unlikely to find in other programs
  • A support system of peers who are on the entrepreneurship journey with you
  • Valuable, actionable takeaways, including a roadmap that encapsulates knowledge learned from the program

The pilot program will run from January 8 to March 19, 2018. The kick-off and closing meeting will be held at WeWork in SE Washington, D.C., while all other meetings will be held virtually. A Facebook group will help keep participants connected and supported throughout the program and beyond.
