The Washington chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMADC) is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. To mark this very special milestone, we’re also celebrating you, greater Washington’s best marketers, with a gala 80th Anniversary Awards Celebration.This premier event will provide:
- The platform to showcase your own or someone else’s most innovative and creative marketing projects not only to members and guests of AMADC at the event, but to greater Washington’s entire business community. Honorees will be featured in a special custom insert in the Washington Business Journal.

Stefanovich strongly believes in supporting community through education, non-profit and civic initiatives including the HYDE school, HomeAgain and ChildSavers. Stefanovich is on the Board of Directors of KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization focused on giving every child in America a great place to play within walking distance. Stefanovich holds a B.S. from Miami University of Ohio.

Dennis Dunlap, CEO, American Marketing AssociationDennis Dunlap’s career began with Leo Burnett Company, the largest advertising agency in Chicago and among the top global agencies. Mr. Dunlap spent 25 years with Burnett and worked with many of the agency’s global consumer goods clients including Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble, Kellogg, Kraft, Johnson Wax, RCA, Maytag and others. Dennis advanced at Burnett and held several senior positions including: President/CEO, Leo Burnett Canada; and Executive Vice President, Leo Burnett USA.
In 1990, Dennis joined RR Donnelley & Sons Company as a Senior Vice President in the Information Services Group. RR Donnelley is the world’s largest U.S. based printer with revenue of $11.6 billion. Since 1999, Mr. Dunlap has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Marketing Association, spearheading significant change and enhancing the association’s visibility and leadership position in the marketing profession.
Mr. Dunlap also sits on the Board of Trustees for the AMA Foundation and has been a member of the National Volunteer Board for the American Red Cross and other non-profit organizations.
Alex Orfinger, Publisher, Washington Business JournalAlex Orfinger is the publisher of Washington Business Journal delivering local business news to the region’s leaders. The weekly business journal and accompanying website washingtonbusinessjournal.com remain the primary source of local business information in greater Washington. Alex is active in the local business community and serves on a number of boards. He is the recipient of awards and honors including “Washingtonian of the Year” by Washingtonian magazine in recognition of his efforts to promote business philanthropy in the region, “Businessperson of the Year by the DC Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his efforts to support business in the region, Leadership Greater Washington’s Regional Leadership Award in recognition of his efforts to bring the region together and earned the Silver Medal Award from the DC Ad Club for his leadership in the local advertising community. A native of New York, Alex holds a degree in history from Vassar College and an MS in international affairs from Georgetown University.
