About the Speakers:

Liz Van Patten, Principal,Van Patten Research

Liz Van Patten is a veteran qualitative research consultant with more than 25 years’ experience discovering insights for dozens of client companies, advertising agencies, government and industry groups. As head of her own qualitative consultancy since 1987, Liz has presented customized, highly professional qualitative research insights to dozens of Fortune 500 companies.

An active member of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association, Liz is a current member of the Board of Directors and the recipient of the 2008 QRCA President’s Award for her work producing Qcasts, where she coaches speakers for monthly webcasts on qualitative research topics.

In 2008 she joined forces with Bev Thompson to create See Me Speak Communications, where they focus on helping business professionals improve the development, design and delivery of in-person and remote presentations.

Bev Thompson, Thompson Communications

Bev Thompson is a corporate training consultant who specializes in persuasive speech writing and presentation projects. Clients include corporate executives, special events organizations, political and social advocacy groups and private practice consultees. Her major accounts include ABC, Bankers Trust, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, General Electric, Goldman Sachs and New York Life.

Bev teaches “Speaking with Confidence” and “Standard American Pronunciation” at New York University's SCPS and Stern School of Business and holds a Masters Degree in Communication Studies from New York University, with specialization in the areas of Public Address, Persuasive Writing, Speech Writing, and International Communications.
